Understated Farm-To-Table Inspired Wedding at the Squire Tarbox

From the moment Claire and Charlie explained their wedding vision I knew it was going to be a dream and then when they said they also had a converted van…. I knew it was meant to be. The main focus was to create an evening that felt less like a traditional wedding dinner and instead, immerse their traveling family and friends into an intimate, local, and farm to table style Maine evening. To ensure everyone could enjoy the October Foliage and stay cozy, we scattered the cocktail hour deck with heaters, blankets, and created a cozy lounge in the barn for those who wanted to opt for an indoor spot. For dinner, we selected a clear tent to allow guests to dine under the stars and fully embrace the nature and scenery around them. Apple Croft catering crafted a incredible family style meal that was fresh, colorful, and left guests plenty full. Thoughtful menus were created for each place setting that detailed each course, and outlined the locations and farms where the meats and vegetables were harvested in Maine.

Their wedding day fell on Claire’s late grandmothers birthday so to pay tribute to her and her love of birds and wildlife, we incorporate illustrated bird cards for the table numbers and for the seating chart. It was a small and special detail that Claire and Charlie shared with everyone during dinner, it was a beautiful moment and tribute to her.

This was the last wedding of 2022 season and we are so thankful for it. When I stepped into the tent that evening while everyone was dining, I remember thinking wow, this is the energy every wedding should embrace-it was wholesome and authentic. I watched as these colorful plates of food were being passed amongst close family and friends while the wine and conversations continued to flow throughout the evening. It wasn’t rushed, it was comfortable, it was intimate, it was the true meaning of embracing your wedding. Special shout out to Hayes and Baker for capturing all these moments, special details and emotion so perfectly.
