Black Tie Private Home Wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine
Aislinn and John Michael’s wedding at their private home in Kennebunkport, Maine, was a flawless blend of elegance and charm. Every detail was carefully curated to reflect their vision, transforming the property into a bespoke venue for their celebration.
The design showcased French country garden-inspired elements such as lush white and blush florals, french country chairs, detailed linens, hanging lanterns, and refined cocktail furniture. A sophisticated palette of white, gold, blush, and black accents created a timeless aesthetic that balanced classic elegance with modern refinement.
The property’s barn underwent renovations ahead of the wedding, serving as a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and a warm, inviting space for the evening’s festivities. The celebration began with a charming trolley ride from town to the property, where guests were welcomed and seated for the ceremony. Following their vows, Aislinn and John Michael set the tone for the evening by making their exit to a champagne table, where Aislinn sabered a bottle to officially kick off the party.
After the ceremony, the space was seamlessly transformed for cocktail hour, with guests mingling on the lawn while enjoying passed appetizers and beverages. From there, everyone was invited into the sailcloth tent for formal dances, heartfelt toasts, and a plated dinner under a canopy of lush greenery and warm lantern lighting.
As dinner concluded, the sounds of the band starting up in the barn signaled the transition to the evening’s lively party. Guests were welcomed into the barn for a night of dancing, while those seeking a quieter moment could retreat to the nearby bar tent with its cozy lounge or relax by the fire pits outside, enjoying the music from a distance. This thoughtfully designed flow ensured every guest could enjoy the celebration in their own way.
This wedding exemplified how meticulous planning and intentional design can transform a family home into an extraordinary setting for a truly custom wedding experience. To achieve this, we recommend creating multiple distinct spaces within the property. This approach not only provides seamless rain plan alternatives but also enhances the guest experience by allowing them to transition through different settings throughout the evening. Thoughtful spatial planning ensures the event feels dynamic and cohesive, no matter the circumstances.
